Jobskin® Made To Measure Leg FLEXION Gaiter

Please note that gaiters are sold individually for a single limb.

Jobskin® Gaiters are fabric orthoses with metal inserts for strength and are fastened around the limb with hook and loop straps. Flexion gaiters aim to passively stretch and support the limb in a different angle of flexion for contracture management.

Made to measure flexion gaiters are recommended when flexion contractures are present. The minimum angle of flexion the gaiters can be constructed in is 5 degrees and the maximum is 90 degrees. Flexion gaiters can feature a choice of cotton lining or towelling & foam padded lining, although towelling and foam lining is most used as flexion gaiters are typically worn for prolonged periods.

How to wear Gaiters

  1. Undo all the hook and loop fastener straps and place on a stable surface with the lining facing upwards. Ensure the top (widest) part of the gaiter is closest to you.
  2. Carefully straighten the limb as much as possible, and place it onto the gaiter ensuring the narrow part of the gaiter is in line with the wrist or ankle.
  3. Fold the gaiter around the limb, ensure that the 'tongue' is flattened out beneath the overlapping edge.
  4. Fasten the hook and loop fasteners securely but do not over tighten. The gaiter should be a comfortable garment to wear and not restrict circulation.
